Chaplain

D. Hall

Chaplaincy is the privilege of serving our St. Mary Catholic Secondary School community in a pastoral ministry. It involves some of the following elements:

-Prayer at both the beginning and end of each school day.

-Pastoral visits by Bishop Crosby.

-School liturgies with parish priests at the beginning of the school year, Advent, Ash Wednesday, May Crowning, Graduation, and other occasions as well as weekly Mass in our chapel for sports teams, clubs and classes.

-The celebration of the sacrament of Reconciliation.

-Eucharistic Adoration and praying the Rosary every day during October and May and once a week during the remaining school year.

-Day long Grade 12 retreats at Mount Mary in Ancaster.

-D.R.E.A.M.S., Halloween for Hunger, Christmas Adopt a Family program, I Am Silent awareness campaign, Life Chain Witness, March for Life in Ottawa,

-Thinkfast and the Pilgrimage.

Our St. Mary's staff and students make our school community holy by their generous acts of love and kindness. I look forward to both meeting you and serving you. Count on me at all times. The school chapel is a place of prayer and sanctuary. The doors are always open. It is a peaceful place for prayer and quiet reflection.

"Accustom yourself continually to make many acts of love, for they enkindle and melt the soul." St. Teresa of Avila
